Sri Lanka has been one of the few countries who remained open for crew changes even during the Covid19 pandemic. Owing to the stringent health protocols set by the Government, Sri Lanka has successfully acted as a crew change hub for many nationalities of crew who have safely embarked and disembarked vessels.

Being an MLC certified Company, we understand the urgency of relieving seafarers and providing new job opportunities to those seafarers at shore. We have pledged our commitment to this cause and have worked with respective authorities to ensure the swift facilitation of crew changes at OPL Galle, which is a convenient stop for vessels passing the Indian Ocean.

As signatories of the Neptune Declaration calling for a solution to the crew change crisis caused by the Covid19 pandemic, we remain available to all vessels passing the Indian Ocean and looking for a reliable and professional Husbandry Agent to facilitate their crew changes.

Charter flights have become a safe transport method for seafarers as it lessens the exposure to Covid19 elements which they would be exposed to when travelling on commercial flights.

During 2020, at the height of the Covid19 pandemic, Manaco Marine facilitated the transfer of almost 1000 Indian seafarers by partnering and conducting Charter flights from India to Sri Lanka, and vice versa. We take pride in being part of the solution that provided seafarers an opportunity to keep their livelihood and also to ensure those who were unable to disembark a chance to go back home.

While the need for charter flights are specific we still maintain the operation and are able to quote competitively to Principals interested in transporting their seafarers to/from India.
